Flying is fun when you’re near to the ground. I’ve had the chance to take a number of helicopter trips in the past year, and recently went up near my parent’s home in western Michigan.
Undoubtedly less colorful than a summertime trip, it was nevertheless exciting to zip over the places you know at 100 mph while so close to the ground.
The brilliant part of a helicopter is, of course, the hover, and the ability to adjust your height at will is really fun.
Below are some shots I took while being piloted across empty farmland, quiet forests and the hundreds of little lakes that dot the countryside.
