2010 In Review
2010! Depending on your state of affairs, it was either a very quick, or a very drawn-out year. I’ve heard many people grumble that they hated 2010, while others have found success despite our shaky economy.
It was a year that held a bunch of huge, cataclysmic natural disasters, not to mention a few giant man-made disasters. It was a year plagued with the same sort of Hollywood drama, celebrity gossip, and nonsense.
It was also a year of tech innovation, internet-obsessed rambling, and a continuation and deepening of our ‘web-connected lives’. The year held some decent movies, some great TV, and superb music. 2010 also edged us closer to the coming ‘teen years’, some truly tough global problems, and a realization of our planet in environmental peril.
For me, it was a pretty darn good year. Great friends, a new nephew, a new apartment, travels to South America, more camping than ever before, and an exploration of my interests as a designer and filmmaker. I took well over 8,000 photos this year, racked up some good frequent flier miles, ate and drank to excess, and laughed a lot.
Through all the bad news that washed up onshore this past year, we have successfully closed out 2010. In with 2011.
Happy New Year.
